Co znamená zkratka P.F.??
Ahoj Veverci,
minulý týden na výpravě se mě Simča zeptala, co vlastně znamená zkratka P.F. Tak jsem trošku zapátrala a tímto vám pro zajímavost předkládám výsledky mého hledání.
PF, slangově Péefko – odvozeno z francouzského Pour féliciter – „pro štěstí“.
Je to kartička s přáním do nového roku, tzv. novoročenka. Zkratka PF je používána pouze v České republice a taky na Slovensku, nikde jinde se s touto zkratkou na novoročenkách nesetkáte. Ve Francii se toto slovní spojení pro novoroční přání v současnosti nepoužívá. Původ a historie hromadného rozšíření novoročenek v českém prostředí jsou nejasné. Obvykle se uvádí, že „vynálezcem“ novoročenek byl hrabě Karel Chotek z Chotkova a Vojnína (1783 - 1868, v letech 1826 - 1843 nejvyšší pražský purkrabí). Francouzština byla na počátku 19. století jedním z hlavních a používaných jazyků nejvyšší společenské vrstvy a byla též užívána jako jazyk diplomatický, z tohoto důvodu je tato zkratka odvozena právě z francouzštiny.
Jak vlastně novoročenky patrně vznikly?
Místo aby podle zavedených zvyklostí přijímal k novému roku zdvořilostní návštěvy, začal rozesílat na počátku 19. století blahopřejné lístky. Říkalo se jim omluvenky a zdobil je hezký obrázek. Zdání světovosti vytvořil hrabě doplněním textu přáním ve francouzštině, jazyku diplomatů, šlechty, vzdělanců a vůbec všech lepších lidí.
Původně šlo o specifické umělecké dílo, jímž přáli svým známým a mecenášům výtvarní umělci. Posléze si umělecké novoročenky u výtvarníků začali objednávat umělci z jiných odvětví a bohatí lidé. Chudí na to zareagovali zasíláním vlastních výtvorů, později začala sériová výroba.
Nenechte se ale mýlit, že novoročenky jsou českým vynálezem. Přání k novému roku se začalo používat nezávisle na sobě hned v několika zemích. Pro zajímavost uveďme příběh z Anglie.
Za vynálezce anglických vánočních a novoročních pohlednic je považován jeden londýnský obchodník znavený každoročním vypisováním blahopřejných vánočních dopisů desítkám známých, obchodním partnerům a zákazníkům. Henry Cole, jak se tento obchodník jmenoval, znal svět a etiku a věděl, že když všem nepopřeje poklidné Vánoce, dopustí se společenského faux pas a poškodí svou reputaci gentlemana. Nechuť k psaní mu vnukla geniální myšlenku. V roce 1843 navštívil populárního malíře Johna Caiicota Hersleye. Dnes již neznámý umělec vešel díky počinu Henryho Colea do historie jako autor první vánoční pohlednice. Jeho obrázek natištěný na papíře a ručně kolorovaný se stal hitem anglických Vánoc roku 1843. Také tyto první anglické vánoční pohlednice se posílaly v obálkách.
Podle jiné zaručené zprávy je ovšem vynálezcem vánočních a novoročních pohlednic jiný Angličan - krachující knihtiskař Raphael Tuck. Vznik vánočních a novoročních přání by se tak posunul až do roku 1866.
V současnosti se jako osobní novoročenka posílá zpravidla klasická pohlednice nebo tzv. rozkládací přání (kartonový dvojlist). Klasické fyzické novoročenky byly částečně vytlačeny virtuálními - lidé posílají e-mail (kde hojně využívají tzv. e-pohlednice). Přesto tradice klasických novoročenek přetrvává a stále více lidí se k nim opět navrací.
Novoročenka nemá být pouze slovním sdělením, ale též uměleckým dílem, které má potěšit a často též pobavit. Novoročenky si dodnes uchovávají charakter důvěrného osobního sdělení.
